Artificial Intelligence (AI) is oriented towards development and applicationof computational technologies that are inspired by the way people learn,reason, and make decisions. Since the field’s inception sixty years ago, it hasexperienced different trends with an unpredictable rate of progress. Nowadays,AI research and technologies pervade our lives, having greatly influenceddomains such as transportation, entertainment, home and service robotics,education, security, and healthcare. This is mainly due to the deluge of dataand a remarkable success of the data-driven paradigm, which has displaced thetraditional paradigms of AI.Poznan University of Technology offers a M.Sc. Programme in ArtificialIntelligence, taught entirely in English. The three-semester programme starts at theend of February and is a natural continuation of a B.Sc. Programme in ArtificialIntelligence offered by the university, and thus is meant for the B.Sc. graduatesin the AI-related fields. It has been launched as a response to a growing demandfor highly specialized AI experts on both Polish and international markets. Thecurriculum aims at providing graduates with an in-depth knowledge of the latestadvances in the field of AI, so that they are prepared to create intelligent systemsand solve complex problems in AI as part of innovative business activities, workin the area of research and development (R&D) or perform scientific researchand undertake doctoral studies.The classes are taught in English and delivered by the world-recognizedscientists whose research in AI has been appreciated with the prestigiousawards by international societies, journals, and conferences. Graduates willacquire detailed knowledge in the fields of AI, machine learning and data analysis:machine perception, program synthesis, multidimensional statistics, intelligentoptimization, machine learning theory, process mining, multicriteria optimization,natural language processing, learning process automation, machine learningtools, dimensionality reduction, knowledge extraction, machine learning graphs,information theory methods, programming constraints, quantum machinelearning, as well as numerous applications of artificial intelligence methods,e.g. in e-commerce, games, mobile applications, biomedical informatics orcryptography.

Today Poznan University of Technology offers education at 9 faculties which provide students with a choice of 33 fields of study. More than 16,000 students of I and II cycles, Phd students and participants of post-graduate programmes receive education here. More than 1,300 academic staff care about their education. Implementation of PUT's mission enables the vision to become reality - to be one of the best technical universities in Poland, which aspires to become an equipollent partner of other European schools in terms of education quality and high level of scientific research. PUT was the first Polish institution of higher education to become a member of CESAER (Conference of European Schools for Advanced Engineering Education and Research) – a European organisation that brings together the best technical schools. It is also a member of SEFI (Societe Europeenne pour la Formation des Ingenieurs), EUA (European University Association), ADUEM (Alliance of Universities for Democracy) and IAU (International Association of Universities).

 

Poznan University of Technology is an important centre of scientific research. The proportion of funds for research projects grows year by year. The strong point of the University is its academic staff. Their achievements in science and numerous publications make a significant contribution to modern technical sciences. Many young members of academic staff and Phd students receive academic grants allowing them to improve their skills and gain new experience abroad. The University's researchers receive the most prestigious state awards for achievement in science. The Foundation of Polish Science, which awards the best Polish scientists, three times honoured professors of our University with the so-called "Polish Nobel Prize" – in 2000 it was awarded to professor Jan Węglarz, in 2005 to professor Roman Słowiński and in 2011 to professor Elżbieta Frąckowiak.

 

PUT's education offer is modern, rich and specifically adapted to meet requirements of employers - both Polish and foreign ones. The University offers more than 100 specialisations within its 33 fields of study.
