The first two years are common for students of Computer Science and Telecommunications programs and constitute the area of Information and Communications Technology.</p> <p style="text-align:justify;">Graduates from Computer Systems and Networks specialisation have excellent qualifications in the area of computer science basics, including basic knowledge of information processing, as well as the area of algorithms and system modelling and various aspects of computer engineering and applications. <p style="text-align:justify;">Graduates obtain knowledge in electronics, telecommunication systems, communication and computer networks, mobile communications and multimedia. They are able to program in C, C++, C# and Matlab to solve several communication and electronic tasks. They are familiar with optoelectronic circuits and systems, TV, antennas and microwaves. They are able to effectively configure computer and wireless networks. In the sixth semester the students select one of the following specialisations: computer networks and Internet technologies, Radio and mobile communications, Communication systems and Multimedia and consumer electronics. The graduates are prepared to work at industry and services associated with modern electronics, communications and informatics. The BSc studies are finalized with the diploma thesis on a selected topic in electronics and telecommunications. During tutorials we stress practical competencies, for example accounting tasks are solved using the Symfonia system, management classes are based on case studies. While doing projects, students acquire not only professional skills but also the skill of thinking in terms of systems, which is useful in solving complex problems. <div> <p>General information</p> </div> <div> <div> <p>Faculty of New Media Arts is a product of cooperation between Polish-Japanese Institute of Information Technology and the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw.It was set up in 2005 and offers unique studies combining artistic skills with mastery of modern ICT. In 2010 PJIIT was accepted to the CUMULUS organisation - an exclusive club of best arts schools in the world. We were the third Polish arts school who joined it, after Academies of Fine Arts in Warsaw and Cracow.</p> <p>We offer the following study modes:</p> <ul> <li>Full-time (day) studies: a three-year undergraduate programme. Offered in Polish and in English.</li> <li>Part-time (weekend) studies: a three-year graduate programme.</li> </ul> <p>The curriculum combines theory and practise both in the field of information technology and visual arts. IT subjects cover such areas as algorithms, computer use, software engineering, multimedia, computer graphics and animation, 3D modelling. Theoretical knowledge is complemented by practical skills gained during workshops in computer labs.<br />Visual arts education emphasises visual forms, therefore students learn sketching, composition, painting, classical animation and camerawork. They get acquainted with making short film forms, especially with creating special effects using 3D techniques and computer animation.
