International Centre of Education

The International Centre of Education is an inter-faculty unit of the Cracow University of Technology. We have been welcoming international students and researchers for over 25 years.

The aims of the Centre are twofold – firstly, to conduct Urban Studies and Sustainability Studies; – secondly, to provide one-year Preparatory Courses and short intensive Bridging Courses for international students intending to start studying in Poland.

About school

Preparatory and Bridging Courses are means by which international students may better meet the scholastic requirements for entry into universities. Courses at ICE are particularly appropriate for providing the academic background needed to succeed in an undergraduate or postgraduate programme at a university in Poland. We offer Preparatory Courses to degree programmes in many disciplines of engineering and science, architecture, arts, economics, and medicine. Our alumni have the opportunity to continue their education at one of the leading Universities in Poland and gain internationally recognized qualifications and degrees.

We also provide a wide range of short courses, including intensive Language Courses and Summer Schools of Polish Language and Culture.

Classes are taught by experienced lecturers and researchers. Our international students have a very good record of personal and academic achievement.

Application Details

For 2011/12 Preparatory Programme, all students must apply to enroll by 31 August.

  • If you miss the deadline for application to enroll, contact the International Office and you may be placed on a list of reserves, however if you would not have been admitted on merit, you will not be placed on a list of reserves. Students placed on the list of reserves will only be offered a place if it is declined by another student.
  • It is much less stressful if you apply to enroll well before the deadline!
IICE notifies students whether they have been accepted, limited out, put on the list of reserves or accepted subject to changes in their chosen courses. These letters come from the International Office and are not the same as the notifications sent automatically to students by the Student Management System during the enrolment process.

Basic Admission Requirements

  • Students must be aged 18 or above at enrolment.
  • Students need to have a good Secondary Education Certificate from their country.
  • Students must demonstrate potential and a will to succeed on the course.

Entry Requirements

You should have successfully completed your secondary education. Qualifications from all countries are considered. Please note that all students coming to Poland should have a secondary school diploma or other diplomas certified by their Ministry of Education or by Polish embassy.

In addition, diploma should have a confirmation from Polish embassy about the student´s ability to study in Universities in his country.

If you wish to study in English, you will also need to show that you have the English language skills necessary to take an active part in the programme.

  • Students transferring from other universities
    Admission to ICE CUT depends on students´ existing academic records. Each applicant is assessed individually.
  • Graduate students
    Admission depends on students´ previous academic records. Each applicant is assessed individually.

If you wish is to study in English, please provide evidence of English language test results or state when you will sit the exam/receive the result.

If you want to make an application while you are waiting for a piece of information (eg. a translation of your exam results) you can do so, but please remember that we will not be able to make a decision on your application until it is complete.
